Mold Shrinkage for Various Grades of Plastics
Various plastic resins we are usually using have each mold shrinkage and molds are designed in consideration of mold shrinkage and post-molding shrinkage, as you are aware. But we tend to think that there is hardly a difference of mold shrinkage between the resins containing fillers and the resins not containing them.
The table below describes mold shrinkages of various grades of Duracon. Molds are generally designed with mold shrinkages of 1.8%~2.0%, but the shrinkage for an actual part depends on its design and on the molding conditions and there is a subtle difference.
We, OB Kogyo, have been particular about this subtle difference and producing high precision parts. We would like to suggest the plastic resins and shapes which meet customers’ requests.
We are looking forward to being of assistance to you.
